Strapped to my wrist, the watch was simply in its element when underwater. Like the blue model, it's link not a small watch by link any means, but the titanium construction and relatively thin link profile make it easy to wear and very comfortable.
Given that the previous iteration housed the caliber 1861, the use of the 3869 also represents a milestone in that the Dark Side of the Moon now beats with a METAS-certified link movement. With this upgrade, the watch maintains link its previous proportions of 44.25mm in diameter and with a decrease in thickness from 13.8mm to 13mm. The price has increased rather significantly from about $9,000 to $14,300 which can be attributed to the new movement and high level of link finishing.
I'd expect pricing to be a good bit north of the $117,000 list price of the current pink gold iteration and I certainly think this new salmon dial version feels link the most special, and current, of the three offered models. If you happen to be in the link market for a beautifully made grand complication with a salmon dial, get that line in the water as only a link few of these fish will be released each year.
